TATTOO CARE - Line Tattoo & Piercing

Thank you for choosing us for your tattoo. To ensure your tattoo heals well and looks perfect, please carefully follow these care instructions:

1. Use the protective film

If the protective film stays intact, ( leave it on the skin for up to 5 days ). If it comes off earlier ( e.g. after the second day ), follow the next steps for regular care.

2. Wash the tattoo

Gently wash the tattoo with ( pH-neutral soap ) and lukewarm water. Avoid using sponges or other materials that could irritate the skin.

3. Dry the tattoo and apply cream

Carefully dry the tattoo with a clean towel or kitchen paper without rubbing.

Then apply a ( moderate amount ) of moisturising cream to the tattooed area. It is important ( not to use too much cream ) to avoid overloading the skin and hindering healing.

4. Avoid scratching

If the tattoo starts to itch, ( do not scratch or pick off the scabs ). Let the scabs fall off naturally to avoid damaging the tattoo.

The importance of healing

Please remember that healing is crucial to the final result of your tattoo. ( Everyone’s skin is different ), and healing time can vary depending on the body area. Some areas tend to heal more slowly or may show colour loss. It is therefore important to follow these recommendations to achieve the best possible result.

Rule no. 1: Hands off the piercing!

Constantly playing with new body jewellery irritates the injury caused by piercing. This can delay healing. Touching the piercing can also introduce germs and bacteria into the piercing channel and therefore into the wound. The result: infections and inflammation.

So: hands off a fresh piercing!

Rule no. 2: Wash your hands!

If you need to touch the piercing, for example for cleaning and care, always wash your hands thoroughly first. If possible, disinfect them too. The fewer germs and bacteria that can reach the wound from your hands, the better.

Piercing care – how to

Caring for a fresh piercing generally follows the same steps.

Step 1 – Wash and disinfect your hands

Step 2 – Soften any crust that may be present

Step 3 – Carefully remove the crust

Step 4 – Wet the piercing with the care product

The belief persists that a piercing needs to be turned or moved in the fresh wound so the care product can spread through the piercing channel. Opinions differ on this. In fact, a liquid care product spreads into the channel without moving the piercing. Constant movement of the jewellery can also delay healing because the wound, which is what a fresh piercing is, cannot close undisturbed.

Which product to use for piercing care

Above all: no experiments or home remedies. The piercer normally recommends the right care products, and these should be used. Prontolind piercing care products have also proven effective.

Special considerations for piercing care

Some types of piercing need particular care, for example tongue piercings.

Normal piercing care products cannot be used here. Special mouth rinses are used instead. The piercer knows which are most suitable and will recommend them. A pharmacy can also help.

Conventional mouthwashes used daily after brushing your teeth are unsuitable for the aftercare of fresh tongue piercings.

Dermal anchor care

The dermal anchor needs some rest for the first 24 hours. Do not remove the covering and do not clean or disinfect it during this period.

Before any contact with the dermal anchor, hands must be washed with skin-pH-neutral soap ( pH 7, NOT lower or higher! ).

The jewellery should be moved as little as possible, since it could shift or be torn out very easily before healing.

Carefully clean your dermal anchor with skin-pH-neutral soap and clear, lukewarm water.

Carefully remove the crust formed from lymph fluid and blood with a cotton bud, and gently pat the area dry with a clean disposable cloth.

AFTERCARE – TOOTH GEMS

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO PROLONG THE ADHESION OF YOUR TOOTH GEMS.

For the first two hours after the tooth gem is applied, do not eat, chew gum or consume sticky foods. Soft, non-sticky foods are recommended for 48 hours to improve the bonding of the gem to the tooth.

Do not brush your teeth for the first 12 hours after the tooth gem is applied. If using an electric toothbrush, wait 48 hours.

Do not touch or play with the tooth gem using your tongue or fingers, particularly immediately after application.

Water and clear liquids can be drunk immediately after application, but it is important to avoid fizzy drinks, coffee, tea and alcohol for the first 24 hours.

Do not smoke or vape for the first 12 hours after application.

Once the adhesive has fully hardened after 48 hours, maintain normal dental hygiene: this includes brushing three times a day, flossing and using mouthwash. It is important to keep teeth clean to prevent plaque forming around the tooth gem.
